Rodger Willis Whetzel 1955-2008
Rodger Willis Whetzel, 52, of Eldersburg died unexpectedly Monday, April 21, 2008, at the Carroll Hospital Center.
Born July 15, 1955, in Baltimore, he was the son of Nancy Willis Whetzel of Florida and the late Rodger Whetzel. He was the husband of Jan Marlene Whetzel of Eldersburg, with whom he would've celebrated 33 years of marriage in August.
He was a building supervisor for the Carroll County Board of Education for the last 10 years. He enjoyed spending time with his dogs, Cashew and Cayse.
Surviving, in addition to his mother and wife, are children and spouse Shannon and Ronald Stewart of Hanover, Pa., Erin and Jordan Whetzel, both of Eldersburg, and Kristen Whetzel of Randallstown; sisters Robin Wright of Eldersburg and Terry Presti of Columbia; grandchildren Kendall, Aiden and Madilyn Stewart; and a mother-in-law, Hazel MacMenamie.
He was predeceased by a father-in-law, James MacMenamie, who died on April 22, 2008.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday (April 25) at Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg. Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today (April 24) at the funeral home.
